MANAGER, TRANSIT CONSULTING

Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:

• Coordinate and lead reviews of transit financial management and advise on technical issues

• Review Federal cost allocation plans and test underlying transactions to make sound recommendations for federal actions

• Establish and work within budgetary and time constraints while providing a high-level of client satisfaction

• Engage in open, direct, candid, constructive, and regular exchanges of information between engagement team members and the client that ensures work activities are effective across teams

• Anticipate and effectively solve unusual or complex problems that affect the engagement by thoroughly analyzing their root causes and recognizing key causal connections

• Manage or direct work of multiple work groups in a manner that effectively delivers results to customers

• Provide insightful responses to client requests in a timely manner to ensure the delivery of the highest quality products and services

• Develop and maintain internal TFC and external client relationships

 

Required Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

• Six years of relevant Federal financial audit or review experience, of which three years are in transit related financial consulting or management

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or management or a Master's degree in business administration from an accredited college or university

• Working knowledge of 49 CFR Part 18 and 2 CFR 200

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Federal government secret security clearance

 

Preferred Skills and Credentials

• Master's degree in business administration or accounting

• Prior "Big 4" Federal audit or advisory experience

• Certified Internal Systems Auditor (CISA), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)

 

**Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full time position in the Washington, DC metro area. Local candidates only. Candidates outside of the Metro D.C. area will not be considered. This is a government contracting position that may perform work on client sites. Travel outside of the region may be required up to 20 percent of time. No agencies, please.

MANAGER

Manager, provide governmental accounting support and assist in financial management in the following areas; internal controls, planning, budgeting, accounting, auditing, and reporting. This position requires excellent written communication skills.

 

Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:

• Coaching and developing others

• Preparing well written communications for various stakeholders

• Developing and supervising internal control assessment procedures in accordance with OMB Circular A-123 to include the test of design and operating effectiveness for both internal controls over financial reporting and operations

• Demonstrating effective decision making and problem solving

• Technical proposal writing to aid in new business generation

• Promoting the firm, its cultures and values, including mentoring junior staff

 

Required Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills as evidenced by reporting writing and client presentations

• 6 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing or other area of Federal financial management

• Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or Information systems

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal government security clearance

• Demonstrated experience developing either federal financial statement audit programs or internal control assessment programs (test of design and operating effectiveness)

• Federal proposal writing experience

 

Preferred Skills and Credential

• Either one of following Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), CPA Candidate (at least 2 parts of examination passed) or CISA

• Prior Big 4 federal audit or advisory experience

• Experience using data analytics to identify fraud waste and abuse

 

Experience Required: 6+ Years

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Senior Associates provide governmental accounting support and assisting financial management in the following areas; internal controls, planning, budgeting, accounting, auditing, and reporting. This position requires excellent written communication skills.

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing or other area of Federal financial management

• Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in accounting

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal government security clearance

 

Preferred Skills and Credential

• One of following CPA, Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).

 

Experience Required: 4+ Years

ASSOCIATE

Associates provide accounting support and related assistance in Federal financial management in the following areas; internal controls, planning, budgeting, accounting, auditing, and reporting. This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:

• Preparing well written communications for various stakeholders.

• Participating in internal control assessments in accordance with OMB Circular A-123 (or Sarbanes Oxley) to include the test of design and operating effectiveness for internal controls over financial reporting and operations.

• Preparing Federal financial reports in accordance with OMB Circular A-136.

• Demonstrating effective decision-making and problem solving.

• Technical proposal writing to aid in generating new business.

• Promoting the firm, its cultures and values.

 

Required Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as evidenced by preparing reports and preparing and presenting information to clients.

• Two to three years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, internal controls assessments, auditing or other area of Federal financial management.

• Bachelors or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or Information systems.

• CPA or CPA candidate.

• Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or CGFM candidate.

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal government security clearance

• Demonstrated experience performing Federal financial statement audit programs, internal control assessment programs (test of design and operating effectiveness), or Federal financial reporting.

JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Junior Accountant will provide financial accounting support for an federal government organization.

 

Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:

• Process payment transactions and verify that comply with financial policies and procedures

• Code payment documents

• Maintain wire transfer templates

• Maintain vendor information in AP system

• Maintain vendor and contract files

• Process payments: verify names against designated watch lists, print checks, match payment to supporting documentation, mail signed checks to vendors

• Prepare 1099's

• Respond to questions from departments or vendors in regards to invoice payments

• Assist with other duties, as needed.

 

Required Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Ability to obtain a US Federal government security clearance within a reasonable period of time.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with MS Excel and Word.

 

Experience Required: 1+ to 2 Years
