TFC sponsored the AGA Professional Development Training (PDT) in Anaheim, CA. TFC leaders, Tashu Trivedi (President) and Steve Watson (Sr. Principal) moderated sessions related to internal controls and ERM.

The four-day conference was geared toward empowering government financial management professionals and featured leaders from government agencies such as OMB, NASA, GAO, DHS, and HHS. These leaders discussed the latest trends and issues within the government financial management domain, including topics such as Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Data Analytics, and Controls Monitoring.

Tashu moderated an informative session on Enterprise Risk Management with Owen Barwell, CFO of National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL); Kamile Narine, Accounting Section Chief from FBI; and David Fisher, Managing Director of PwC’s Public Sector Risk Consulting Practice. These experts provided advice on how agencies can implement ERM based on their own experiences within their respective agencies. Steve presented an effective session on Strength through Continuous Controls Monitoring, with speakers Jay Hurt, CFO of Federal Student Aid (FSA); Christen Farmer, Risk and Controls Manager of Treasury’s Small Business Lending Fund (SBLF); and Christina Prevalsky, Senior Manager at FI Consulting.
